The Road to Wellness
The Nature of Spirit

By Janet Berg

Barbara J. Young is a holistic psychologist who teaches about the nature of spirit. Holistic psychology is the study and correction of the spirit's memory of past life experiences that influence our current life, including physical and mental health. Traditional psychology is based on current mind and memory, disavowing the reality of the nature of the human spirit.

The nature of spirit is the collective memory of all past lives, our ability to function in unity with this memory and the creation of dreams and visions to assist the soul in its consciousness. During sleep, the spirit leaves the body and projects itself in spans of two weeks, one month or two months. When our consciousness meets the end of this jump forward period, we experience déjà vu. The spirit then leaps forward again, and if it sees that the body will be placed in danger it arranges a precognitive dream or vision to warn it so it can stay out of harm's way.

The spirit also assists in healing our body and mind so we can experience optimum growth. All mental processing is due to the combination of conscious memory created in this life in relation to the subliminal memory of the spirit's nature. Young says that, when the two don't match, they're forced into a double bind situation and the reactive mental state is always depression.

Young also says that, if we experienced a trauma in a past life, at the same age in the present life the response to that fear can surface as depression, chronic fatigue, phobias or even suicidal tendencies.

Young is available for private sessions or seminars. You can reach her at be.light@earthlink.net for technical questions or data or write her at P.O. Box 83, Vandalia, OH 45377. ©
