TLC scores points with The Story of Computer Games

Here are a few programs to look out for in the upcoming week ...
WEDNESDAY 10 P.M. The Story of Computer Games, TLC. Since the first Pong machine was unveiled 30 years ago, computer games have become the world's second largest entertainment industry, after music. This program profiles game developers who revolutionized the industry and made playing video games a familiar household activity, and also indirectly fueled the snack food industry.
THURSDAY 10 P.M. Haunted Road Trip, Travel Channel. Victims of a sinister surgeon from the 1930s roam the basement of the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, Ark.; guests from the Wild West haunt the St. James in Cimarron, N.M.; in Niagara Falls, N.Y., a tormented lover searches in vain for his betrothed, amid casinos and tacky gift shops.
FRIDAY 9 P.M. The Good Book of Love: Sex in the Bible, A&E. From erotic poetry to sinful sex, we'll explore the uncensored Bible. Discover scriptures brimming with lustful tales such as King Solomon's 700 concubines, Sodom and Gomorrah, and Jesus and the adulteress. Dr. Ruth Westheimer and other experts discuss a Bible where passion and sexual deviancy live alongside the quest for the holy. Watch for lightning.
SATURDAY 6 P.M. The Twelve Apostles: History's Great Revolutionaries, The History Channel. Separately, they were nobodies -- a handful of fishermen, an angry tax collector. But united by a charismatic Jewish preacher, this ragtag gang became history's most famous revolutionaries. Meet Peter, Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew, Thomas, Matthew, James the Lesser, Thaddeus, Simon and Judas in this 2-hour special. Soon to be a Fox sitcom, Jesus and Friends. (Humor, too, is one of his gifts.)
SUNDAY 10 P.M. Mary: Mother of Jesus, Discovery. If the actual Mary entered a modern church, parishioners would see a very different woman from the one they know and love. This program uses biblical experts, archaeologists and historians to give a glimpse of Mary the woman, revealing for the first time how she would have spoken and lived. Like many young mothers at the time, Mary was only 14 when she gave birth to Jesus. She was unmarried and probably illiterate. Her family lived in a land occupied by a foreign army. This program explores facts and theories, some very controversial, and lets viewers decide if Mary was an ordinary woman who gave birth to an extraordinary son or something much more.
TUESDAY 9 P.M. 50 Outrageous Animal Facts, Animal Planet. Look at some of the most amazing facts about animals -- more than a list of the fastest, shortest or longest animals. Never hurts to know more trivia.
TUESDAY 10 P.M. Lucky, FX. John Corbett (ex-Northern Exposure, ex-Sex in the City, My Big Fat Greek Wedding) is Michael "Lucky" Linkletter in this half-hour original series. A bit rocky so far, it seems to waste both Corbett's likeable manner and the great location (Las Vegas). No, I won't say anything like "worth the gamble" or "roll the dice on this one."
NEWS & NOTES: Bill Cosby's best-selling book, Fatherhood, is coming to Nick at Nite as the first original animated series for that network. ... Speaking of all things Cosby and Cosby-related, the Disney Channel program, That's So Raven, will return for a second season featuring ex-Cosby kid, Raven-Symone.
