In 2000, Dayton Hard Rock bands World Gone Wrong and Lucky Levin called it quits. Being two groups from the same scene, the band members had developed a friendly rapport that ultimately led to the idea of forming a new outfit. In 2000, they did just that, leading to Real Mother, one of the region's more active up-and-comers. A production deal with a Nashville-based producer has led to the most recent release, the EP Secret, which showcases the talented quartet's tight, emotive sound, mixing stabbing riffage, locked-in rhythms and singer Jeremy Knedler's dramatic, forceful vocal stylings.
The band swings through the York Street Café for a show with locals Hardmolly on Friday.
