Living Daylights

Hailing from Seattle, the fusionary Living Daylights are one of the rising stars of the Jam Band subgenre that combines the agile chops of Jazz with the groovalicious mind-meld and exploratory eagerness that so pleases the "Jam" fans. Formed in the mid-'90s, Living Daylights has racked up the accolades, garnering glowing reviews from Jazz bibles Pulse and Downbeat, as well as awards in their hometown region and opening slot offers from John Scofield, Groove Collective, Deep Banana Blackout and Maceo Parker. The trio's individual accomplishments are just as impressive. Sax-player/flutist Jessica Lurie has collaborated with everyone from The Indigo Girls to Sleater-Kinney and maintains a successful solo career; bassist Arne Livingston was a staple on the Boston Jazz scene, playing with Joshua Redman and Roy Hargrove; and drummer Dale Fanning was a member of touring act Tough Mama and he maintains a "first call" freelance career that has led to work with Pete Droge and Omar Torrez. Living Daylight's most recent effort is Electric Rosary, which features the legendary Bill Frisell on guitar.
