Ampline

Ampline

It's an Indie Rock spectacular Saturday at the Southgate House, as local Indie instrumental group Ampline (which features two-thirds of the local group Thistle), return from a two-week tour for a special homecoming gig. The band's winding, rocked-out songs (which are so solid you hardly notice the lack of vocals) can finally be heard this spring when Ampline releases its debut album on Tiberius Records. Local Indie Pop legends The Tigerlilies co-headline the night. The 'Lilies are currently gearing up for the long-awaited July release of their new album for Chicago's Atavistic Records, home to the band's last full-length, Space Age Love Songs, from 1997. Rounding out the bill is Columbus rockers Silo the Huskie, who are reportedly looking for a new label following a split with Cargo Records, and Cincinnati's own glammy AltRock crew Green Room.

At the Southgate House on Saturday.
