Psychodots Return
Becoming as synonymous with Thanksgiving as football and turkey in the Cincinnati area, the psychodots are getting back together once again for their annual local show, taking place on Wednesday at the Southgate House. The Pop/Rock masters will be joined by one of the leaders of the new school, The Simpletons. Tickets for the performance can be purchased in advance at ticketweb.com.
Fans of the 'dots can also see singer/guitarist Rob Fetters in an acoustic setting on Nov. 23, as he open for locals Gravy8 at the York Street Café. The Bears (Fetters and dotmates, Bob Nyswonger and Chris Arduser, along with guitarist/singer Adrian Belew) are also looking to play some live shows in February in support of their fantastic new release, Car Caught Fire, which is up for Album of the Year honors at this year's Cincinnati Entertainment Awards. Fetters is scheduled to perform acoustically at the Nov. 26 event, which takes place at the Old St. George church in Clifton.

'Devil' Music
Local singer/songwriter Mark Weierman will celebrate the release of his debut solo CD, Owe the Devil, on Sunday at the York Street Café in Newport. Messerly and Ewing will open the 8 p.m. show.
Weierman is also half of the Folk duo, The Ditch Lilies, who released their self-titled debut back in 1999. With Owe the Devil, Weierman continues in the Roots/Americana vein, but the record is more fleshed out (the artist calls it "Electric Americana"), with an impressive lineup of local musicians lending a hand, including Steve Sigsbee, Elaine Diehl and Mark Messerly. The songs on Owe the Devil are well-written and contain elements of Blues, Country and Southern Rock, with Weierman's soulful vocals highlighting many of the tracks.
Most of the artists contributing to the disc will also be guesting at the release celebration. For more information, check sixcats.com/markweierman.
