Sayler Park
Sayler Park Village Council is holding a public auction to benefit the Lone Star Legal Defense Fund. A preview opens at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 24, followed by the auction at 5:30 p.m., at the CMC Field on Hillside Avenue. Items include furniture, china, glassware, memorabilia, vehicles, and vintage clothing and jewelry. The legal defense fund supports efforts to block a cement plant proposed by Lone Star Industries.


Finneytown
A Classical Music recital by Michael Jorgensen on violin, with Tomoko Kanamaru on piano, features the music of Brahms, Mozart, Ysaye and Franck at 3 p.m. Sunday at Northminster Presbyterian Church. Admission is free.

Employers, social and community service agencies and job seekers can participate in the NAACP Diversity and Employment Event Aug. 22 and 29 at the Northern Kentucky Convention. A series of workshops feature information on resume writing, communication skills, dress etiquette, education, transportation and other ways for to improve employability.
