Walnut Hills Mom's S.O.S. (Saturday Out Service) is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, May 12 through 26, at Melrose YMCA, 2840 Melrose Ave. The program, for children ages 6 through 12, includes swimming lessons, field trips, cooking lessons, a computer lab, arts and crafts, board games, community service and youth aerobics. Bring lunch, towel, swimwear, tennis shoes and relaxing clothing.
Amberley Village The Second Annual Pooch Parade and Picnic is at 1 p.m. May 19 at French Park. People and their pooches can strut their stuff in the parade, the dog jog and a variety of canine competitions. Prizes will go to the dog with the Best Tail Wag, Best Howling, Best Begging and other pet tricks. For information, call Lajuana Miller at 513-563-9380. Hyde Park The Hyde Park Upstairs, Downstairs House Tour seeks volunteers. The house tour is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. and 2:30 to 5:45 p.m. May 20. Docents are needed in six historic houses on Grandin Lane, Elmhurst Place and Grandin Road. Volunteers receive free admission to the tour, which costs $25 for members and $30 for non-members.
