KENTUCKY GETS MORE LIMELIGHT AT BOWMAN'S BACKDOOR GALLERY IN FORT THOMAS WITH THE KENTUCKY WATERCOLOR SOCIETY TRAVELING AQUEOUS SHOW, a national juried exhibit which always makes a big splash. Info: 859-781-2233.
Two (count 'em) two new galleries in Cincinnati! The ZAHORIC·HUGHES GALLERY, specializing in high-end fine crafts, is open now at 323 W. Fourth St. There was a special preview show in June, honoring Convergence 2000. An official grand opening is planned soon. That's three recent revivals in the old Fourth Street art block. It looks promising. Info: 513-651-1333. While up in Mount Adams, artists-in-residence at the Covington Cathedral, Charles Brown and Doreen LaRue opened VISIONARY ART IN ACTION in April. The two friends have collaborated on traveling exhibits for awhile, and decided to take the show off the road at 945 Hatch St. Scenes, landmarks and people from the Cincinnati area. Info: 513-421-4455
The Cincinnati Art Museum opens Art in the Age of Queen Victoria on Sunday. These works from the permanent collection of the Royal Academy of Arts are sweet old stuff.
