Rest hasn't come easily to Carrie Lynn Cooke. "This past couple of weeks I Ahaven't been sleeping a whole lot at all," she admits.

A full-time art teacher at New Miami High School and a part-time graduate student in art education at Miami University, Cooke has also had to contend with the finishing touches to Leader-Hogen Cincinnati. Sponsored by the Leadership Cincinnati Alumni Association, the pig carries a lot of weight for Cooke. "This was part of my last three credit hours that was needed (for my Master's)," she says.

A creation of fiberglass, spot filler and enamel paint, the pig also made its way into her role as a teacher. "The best part of the project has been showing the kids the process along the way," she explains.

It's but one example of how art and education have intertwined themselves in her life. "(Teaching) just came naturally. As I've gotten older, I've gotten more into the artist aspect," she explains.

There's more art and education on the horizon: her very first art show (at the Fitton Center for the Arts in September) and a second degree in printmaking.

Rest won't be coming any time soon for Cooke.
