Seems like he's been doing it for 100 years, but the truth is that Hal Holbrook is now just about the right age to be doing the Mark Twain impression he began in 1954. His performances of MARK TWAIN TONIGHT! have won him a Tony and an Emmy. The Broadway Series is bringing him to town for the local audience, one night only, on April 6. ... This is the time of year when theaters are announcing their seasons for the coming year, but don't forget that there's still lots of great shows before summer rolls around. For instance, at Northern Kentucky University, they're staging FALSETTOS, a 1992 Broadway show that blended two Off Broadway shows, March of the Falsettos and Falsettoland, one of the most acclaimed of Off Broadway musicals. Set in 1979 and 1981, it's about an untraditional family struggling with relationships, straight and gay. Tickets: 606-572-5464. ... Did you miss New Edgecliff Theatre's fine production of William Mastrosimone's THE WOOLGATHERER? Another production of this interesting two-person contemporary romance is being staged by Center Stage, a theater in Yellow Springs. The show will be presented from April 8-16. Info: 937-767-2481. ... A new theater group, the IF Theatre Collective, is presenting its second production, opening on April 6: Jean-Paul Sartre's existentialist drama, NO EXIT. IF is dedicated to establishing a creative ensemble to present the perspectives of modern and contemporary playwrights. No Exit will be staged at the University Branch of the YMCA (720 Calhoun St. in Clifton). Info: 961-7434. ... Wanna fight? Two local experts, GINA CERIMELE-MECHLEY and MATTHEW PYLE, both trained extensively through the Society of American Fight Directors, are offering a 10-week course in stage combat. It meets on Sundays; cost is $200. To register: 369-1544.
