Now that the Cincinnati Art Museum has announced TIMOTHY F. RUB as new director, it might be a good time to make heard some of our area artists' most frequently voiced wishes. Time was when there were shows by our local talent which brought in crowds. There were Art Academy student shows, invitationals and open juried exhibits, all of which were so popular one had to jockey for standing room. Rumor has it that the elite were less than overjoyed by the presence of the masses scratching up the parquet floors, so these activities were terminated. Granted this is not the duty of the museum, but there's nothing wrong with going that extra mile, especially if those masses are willing to pay for it.

THE DINER ON SYCAMORE is looking for artists who wish to be featured in their restaurant. No commission on works sold! Shows last one month. Call Lisa Cilensek, 721-1212.

Getting known: Miami University is the base for a little-used Web site called OhioArts Listserv. The membership currently numbers about 45 artists and art appreciators. Imagine what kind of idea exchanges, networking and technical advice would be available if that list would grow to encompass every computer-savvy artist in the area, better yet, in the U.S. Many thanks to TOM LOHRE for passing along a couple of great possibilities. http://listserv.muohio.edu and a link for disabled artists, Challenged Artists Group at http://specialink.com/ AbleArts/ablearts.htm.

What this world needs is more TIME FOR ART, and it comes in the form of a full building of studio space (4813 Vine St.) now leasing on a first-come, first-served basis. Price varies according to the artist's preferences: Locked or open space, air conditioning, privacy panels. Design your studio the way you always wanted it. Call 641-2777 or Jessica Campbell at 851-7880.
