Let's face it. Suzanna Terrill Gallery offers a good reason (as if you needed one) to join this week's Final Friday art-crawl, featuring portrait demos by DONNA TELERICO from 4-9 p.m. Then the next Friday (May 7) CARIN HEBENSTREIT takes the easel to create more in that line from 1-4 p.m. 665-4500.

A new creation by SUZANNE FISHER, animation artist, is ready to appear on the Net at www.thebitscreen.com in June. "Sketchbook of Life: Between History and Memory" is an artistic travel autobiography based on Fisher's journals, sketchbooks and photos from the past 10 years. Fisher's manipulative work has a light, humorous touch, easy on the eyes and fun for the imagination. Low-budget filmmakers take note: Bit Screen is a Web site dedicated to short short films and animations. Look in on "Sketchbook" at the Main Library downtown or on Fisher's Web page, www.wrightdesign.com/venus.

Speaking of the Net, Intel inaugurated a new site for art lovers -- called www.artmuseum.net -- designed to feature super shows in a virtual format. They began with the National Gallery's Van Gogh's Van Goghs and are about to begin wheeling through the fabulous Part I of the Whitney's Art of the Century. Part II follows in September. Definitely worth a look.

A couple of years back, CityBeat featured a story on GREG STORER's Walnut Hills mural, complete with mailbox, designed to cover razing operations along McMillan Avenue. The unique, fun addition to the neighborhood, viewed best from the windows of Frisch's with a cup of coffee, is gone now, but look up. Same place, second story, he's painted huge eyes, eerily watching Walnut Hills' daily grind. Storer's more customary urban and suburban venues are now showing at Cincinnati Art Galleries through mid-May. Titled "Walls That Speak," the message is gesture, fine rendering and exuberance. 381-2128

The Alley Shop is featuring KATHLEEN DeFRANCESCO SMITH, opening May 2. Smith's works are a knowledgeable cross between fine art and decorative design. They are abstract, yet comfortable, full of spontaneous surprises. Likable stuff. 242-5400.
