Apparently, there is an art to getting money for the arts. JEFF WEST, arts administrator and consultant, will deliver that magic formula in his presentation, "Get 'Em Giving: The New Arts Patron," Monday, April 12, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Shelterhouse, Playhouse in the Park. It's another free program, brought to you by the Arts Services Office. RSVP at 871-2787, ext. 28.
The Arts Services Office is also asking for help with the Cincinnati Bell clean-up/fix-up project on Saturday, June 12. Be a creative fixer and cleaner. Cincinnati Bell will even feed you. Sounds like a great group activity. Same number as above.
Glass is getting recognition with the June release of "The American Glass" postage stamp series and a debut exhibit by Brook Forest White Jr. His fans have had plenty to follow by catching his group shows, but he's soloing this time at the MARTA HEWITT GALLERY. The festivities include a slide presentation of world travels and visits to exotic glass blowing studios on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the gallery. Call ahead. 421-7883.
The 31st annual DUVENECK MEMORIAL ART SHOW is one of the few affordable art fairs left. It's also one of the most pleasant, held in a beautiful setting on Riverside Drive in Covington. For a mere $25, a 10-foot space is yours, and a chance to win prize money in the one-day show. Show date: May 16. Entry deadline: May 6. 356-2360.
